“I’m sorry“

I'm sorry, said the crocodile

before it devours the deer

I'm sorry, says the man

who hits his wife

Verse 2

I'm sorry, says the murderer

before he kills someone

I'm sorry, says the politician,

because he knows he's lying

Refrain

I'm slowly getting tired of

hearing the words I'm sorry.

It's more of a cliché these days than really the truth.

I'm sorry you have to hear my song.

But, the truth does hurt!

Verse 3

I'm sorry, the guard says

with a grin and hits the prisoner.

I'm sorry, says the mother

and then forgets her child

Verse 4

I'm sorry, says the pastor

who abuses children

I'm sorry, says the dictator

before he sends his people to eternal punishment and damnation

Refrain

I'm slowly getting tired of

hearing the words I'm sorry.

It's more of a cliché these days than really the truth.

I'm sorry you have to hear my song.

But, the truth does hurt!

"Come Sing with Me”

When you hear the news today, it’s the same depressing news we have  been hearing for a long time.  War, hunger, hate and death dominates the media and is a constant companion in our lives.

Even if it gets better one day or in my mind it gets better, you realize that everything is only going to get worse.

The only ones who can change all of this into a positive existence are we the people.

So let's not get discouraged because of this, keep working on our dreams and making them come true.

My wish is that my music gives you the drive, gives you hope when things aren't going so well for you.  If you are doing well, you are welcome to sing some of my songs, “One World One Love”, “I can't wait to see you again” or “I'd like to tell you”.

I am often asked, when you write a new song, do you write the lyrics or the melody first, how do you do it?

The answer is this, first I think of a certain topic that touches me, that concerns me or that I think would touch my fans.

When the topic is clear to me, I usually take my guitar, play a few chords and hum a melody. Basically, I always start with the chorus.

I then type the text on the computer roughly finding it has more and more text and melody including the chords. When writing from the heart that can happen.

It's always important to me that the chorus is kept simple, that my fans and friends have it in their ears immediately. Simple doesn't mean primitive, but sometimes it's not easy to translate a challenging text into a catchy melody. The chorus is simply the most important because it is the cornerstone that the listeners can't get it out of their heads later on. Then I sit down and usually write 2-3 verses that go with it.

In music, of course, you choose the pitch where you feel most comfortable vocally. I usually write the song between one and two hours.

Later the song will be worked on again and the final textual or musical changes will be made. Then I sing the song in my home studio, i.e. with guitar and vocals.

In a week at the latest I will know whether the new song has a chance. The song will get a chance if I'm still enthusiastic about the song after a week.

Then it's off to the studio, the arrangement will be worked on and a new baby is born.
